Is Fox News really a tabloid, instead of a news outlet?

Given the sensationalistic style, the distortions, and outright fabrications on which Fox News thrives—much more than its supposed peers—isn't the channel really a tabloid, a right-wing TV tabloid? Do most journalists and pundits not call it that because of political correctness and/or abject terror of being called "liberals" if they do?
