I need some good summer reads...?

I'm disgustingly picky about books. I've read the Harry Potter books, Stephen King, Orson Scott Card, David Almond, His Dark Materials and reread them. I love fantasies, but not the type that ooze romance into it, and I'm not a fan of the Twilight books (sorry). I like books that are written well, and not your ordinary plots. I'm sorry - I just have so much trouble going through libraries. Any recomendations are appreciated and will be examined.
