I have a spotted shetland mare and a spotted shetland stallion (now gelding!!). Both had been bred together before by their previous owner (and always produced spotted foals), and I bought them when the mare was already in foal. The filly is now a month old and her dark grey foal fur is moulting a lot but she still has dark grey/black hair and no signs of spots. I was wondering when the spots will begin to appear, or could she be a throwback and not produce spots at all?
