Move to small midwestern town or stay near big east coast city to raise a family?

..i was you 30yrs ago i had two small children and lived in a northern city..the educational system in the north was and is far superior to that in the south ..i chose to move south for the lifestyle it is more relaxed..did not know anyone where i moved had to start life from scratch...as far as home i have always thought home was where me and my immediate family are the in-laws if they wanted to visit would just have to travel south...turned out fine both my sons are teachers and have left the house yrs ago and i do not have to travel south to retire i am already here...one more thing i never felt a need to travel back and forth i only went back north about once ever five years ...good luck
