Is this a real illness or was she lying?

My ex-girlfriend had some medical problems and one thing she told me was that the doctor told her that she had this condition where she would have to be extra careful not to catch any STIs because they could cause damage to her cells and cause her to have hysterectomy. Recently though, after having split up, it has come to light that she's a bit clingy and lies to people about things (usually about me!) but I was wondering if such a condition actually does exist or if it was a lie she concocted to try to stop me cheating on her? Help please :)
