DUDES OR REALLY ANYBODY HELP ME!!!?

ok, i like this guy and we were talking on IM. we got 2 the subject about a girl i thought he liked and how they were spending time 2gether and how awesum a person she is...........then, he sed sumthin like YEA! wen i sed she waz cool........and i sed OF COURSE! she's rachel! lol i think he missinterpretted b/c he then sed i think ur cool 2! and all this other stuff........i didnt mena it like that i just meant it like yea! she is! and well, then, i kinda got sad b/c i knew he REALLY liked her........i told my friend wat he sed and then she began 2 yell @ him saying y did he hurt my feelins and wat not............then, he sed 2 me how did he hurt my feelings and THEN he asked if i liked him..........and its ok if i did.............i immediately panicked and sed i liked him as a friend.......................he didnt believe me...........but i kept saying i didnt even though i did waz this a good move?
