Does radiation get harder as treatments progress?

my mom was diagnosed w pancreatic cancer about a month ago. she has begun radiation (5 treatments a week for 7-8 weeks, she is also taking chemo meds (zolada) they are also giving her gemzar on fridays(iv chemo treatment). she is in her 2nd week of this treatment plan. will her side effects subside eventually or get worse?
